This year marks the start of something new. We are going back to school for the first time. The first time one of my babies will be in a big kid school, taking the bus and leaving the safety and comfort of the daycare and pre-school program we have always know. This year will also mark the first time I am going back to school shopping.
Kindergarten Here We Come
My daughter cannot wait for all the things that come with Kindergarten. New backpack, new lunch box, new crayons and markers and glue stick and all the other fun goodies. Meanwhile the whole thing overwhelms and terrifies me.
Ellie is worried about where she will do her homework and how she will keep her brother from destroying her stuff. She thinks kindergarten means homework for hours every night (I really hope she is wrong about this) and that she will be too old and to busy to play with her brothers (I know she is wrong about this one). I worry about my baby being in a new school with new friends and new teachers. I worry about her taking the bus and if she will have enough time to play and eat her lunch and if she will rest enough.
Meanwhile, I have been looking for all the things to make this transition easier for us.
Target to the Rescue
The best thing I have found so far is the Target School List Assist. I am not a Target Affiliate and I get absolutely nothing from sharing this but it is one of those things I just have to share with you! Target has somehow compiled school supply lists from schools across the country. All you have to do is find your school, fill your cart with the supplies listed and check out! They have pick up and delivery options. It is the single best thing I have found to make this transition easier.
